Green Groups Denounce Freedom Island Reclamation on Earth Day

PRESS RELEASE--21 April 2012

In celebration of the Earth Day, environmental groups conducted a coastal clean-up at Freedom Island (Las Piñas-Paranaque Critical Habitat and Eco-tourism Area). Earth Day is celebrated in more than 175 countries worldwide to raise people's environmental awareness. Said bird and marine sanctuary is under threat against tons of trash coming from the sea and the controversial reclamation project of the Philippine Reclamation Authority (PRA).
